The new BRC Global Standard Food Safety applies to all audits from February 1, 2019
More than 70 paragraphs are changed. Some of the news are:
- Either announced or completely unannounced audit
- Culture for food safety
- Whistle-blower system
- Supplier assessment and evaluation extended
- Traded products - now section 9 of the standard (optional)
- Hygiene zones clarified - separate section
- Internal audits - at least 4 times / year
- The plant - many minor details
- Shelf life - validated
- Food Defense & Food Fraud - expanded
- Environmental sampling - new
- IT security
- Animal food included
